ok, i decided to make my bush rant entry private. the speech is over and i can breathe normally again and stop shouting obscenities at the tv.

so i have this awesome vintage scarf with all these famous sicilian landmarks (you better believe i'm a proud daughter of italy). it's a great scarf, but i decided to use it as decoration, rather than wear it. as per my mom's suggestion, i decided to use it as a pillowcase. so i finally walked over to bed bath and beyond and picked out the biggest pillow i could find, which happened to be the perfect size. i used some brown corduroy (left over from turning a king-size duvet cover into a twin-sized version) for the back of the pillowcase and in about 20 minutes i created a big fluffy sicily pillow. unfortunately, it's so big that it doesn't really fit comfortably on any of my chairs, so i may have to throw it on the bed. by some stroke of luck the colors of the pillow (light blue and brown, mostly) coordinate really well with my decor. it's so cute, i want to take a picture. the little map of sicily even includes some of my ancestral towns, like cefalu, which some of my relatives actually took as a last name.
